He’s been in more Boise bands than any sane musician should, and he plays essentially any instrument with strings or keys plopped in front of him. He’s also eccentric. Can music be funky and ominous? Paul’s can.” His talents are demonstrated on vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard, mandolin and accordion both in live performances and on his albums ‘Goodbye, Waterloo…‘(2011) and ‘House On Fire ‘(2009), and his EPs “Yours, Etc…’ (2004) and ‘Interference’ (2015).

To listen to Blaze and Kelly is to experience a musical nirvana. Their art takes the listener beyond the realm of the temporal, and into those intangible places we call spirit, dreams, and love. There’s no doubt these two laughter-loving women can sing—Niccole’s powerful lead vocals blend perfectly with Mo’s sweet tone. But what makes them true artists is their ability to create emotion. To Blaze and Kelly, it’s not money, fame, or precision that creates happiness, but genuine human connection. And their songs illustrate the humanity, passion, and truth each one of us strives to feel and find gladness

BAR365 5pm-8pm: Moss & Riche

Originally from Pocatello Idaho, I moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1971 after being adopted. From a young age, I’ve always found comfort in music and used to lie awake at night creating symphonies in my mind. In the sixth grade, I joined band class and played trombone, starting a musical journey that has lasted til present day. After getting my first guitar at age twelve, I didn’t realize that putting it down wouldn’t be an option. After a few early lessons I took to teaching myself to play many styles. Somewhere along the way I started singing. I’ve been in a few bands including The Decade Blues Band, SoundHawk and most recently RoundHouseAnthem. Now, performing solo and song writing are my passion. Music has allowed me to express my thoughts and feelings about life and living.

Sandbar 2pm-5pm: Shon Sanders Band

Shon's father, a professional musician, had a massive and quite eclectic record collection. "Growing up there was always music in the house! My parents were into everything....classical, jazz, blues, folk, and rock.  But it was the funk and soul records that blew my mind at a very young age. All that stuff about women and love... I didn't know what all of it meant but I knew it moved me!" Inspired by the likes of Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Isaac Hayes, and Teddy Pendergrass, just to name a few, Shon began his journey finding his own soulful voice. The many influences of all the different genres of music that surrounded him in his youth can be found in Shon's unique sound.

Sandbar 6pm-9pm: Andy Byron & Friends

With influences from Michael Martin Murphey to Gordon Lightfoot to Jerry Jeff Walker, this singer-songwriter delivers his music from the heart. The sound is country and the messages universal -- living, dying, lost love, found love, family, kids. This music is about what really counts in life. After a detour away from music for over 20 years, in 2007 ANDY BYRON released his first CD of original material called, "SOMEWHERE OR NOWHERE." The music delivers upbeat country to acoustic folk to driving country-rock with focus on meaningful lyrics. One track, "FORTY MILES TO SAN ANTONE," spent 12 weeks during the Spring and Summer of 2008 on the EUROPEAN COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOC. charts peaking at #70. On 9/10/07 he and his band, THE LOST RIVER BAND, performed for a packed house at their CD Release Party held at the KNITTING FACTORY CONCERT HOUSE in Boise, Idaho.

BAR365 & Sandbar Admission Price: Free and open to the public

Sandbar 2pm-5pm: Ryan Wissinger

Ryan Wissinger has been entertaining Boise with his eclectic guitar music for over a decade, with a repertoire of covers spanning 8 decades and his own inspired compositions.  He's performed on Boise Song Talk and was featured by the Boise Songwriters Association.  He has written local favorites including "Idaho Polka" and "Walking Blue", and sings tunes spanning Abba to Zappa and anything between. Ryan frequently performs with many of the valley's best known musicians.

Sandbar 6pm-9pm: Blaze & Kelly

The original Will the Circle be Unbroken album, and anything Doc Watson were some of his favorites. Doc became a distant but powerful influence and Joel eventually got to play a few tunes with Doc.

Joel has played, toured, and recorded with talented musicians including Loose Ties, Muzzie Braun, Pinto Bennett, Alice B., Ben Burdick, Chris Wall, and Reilly Coyote. He judged the National Flatpicking Championships in Winfield Kansas as well as performing at the festival with Loose Ties, a progressive bluegrass band. As part of Loose Ties, Joel performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Two of the band’s songs, recorded live, are featured on the 1st Planet Bluegrass album.

Joel ‘s early influences led him to expand his horizons and he added both mandolin and banjo to his repertoire. He has an interesting blend of traditional and progressive styles that make his unique sound. You will hear many influences in Joel’s music. Some you will know and, hopefully, some that you haven’t heard yet, but you’d like to get to know.

The Sapphire Room | Andy Byron's Americana Music Series

Andy Byron's Americana Music Series:

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO

"2 GEORGES--STRAIT & JONES"

with The Mighty Red Melons

The Mighty Red Melons pay tribute to two more of their C/W heroes, George Jones and George Strait. Both born in trailer parks to the sound of Hank Williams playing on scratchy 78's in the back room, while the family played darts in the kitchen and got mad at the noise. This hollerin' caused these two babies to start singing when they were only three days old, and they each were making a living on the street corners of Ferguson, Tennessee, and Lewiston, Idaho respectively by the time they were 5. Although from different generations, their paths crossed often at Safeway stores across America as they looked into each other's baskets to see what was in there, and then sang about it.

So many of those songs can still be heard on the radio even today, although, with all the “so called” country on there these days, this stuff gets closer and closer to the bottom shelf every year. But if you want to hear real honky tonk from the Two Greatest George's....this show will have it, from stompers to weepers and everything in between. Bring your hankies and your boots… time for another great Melon Tribute Show!
